The Cross Cultural Learning Collaborative (CCLC) Training is a regional training hosted by the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, Tribal State Relations Workgroup. Funding for this training is provided by the Oklahoma Systems of Care Grant. The purpose of this tribal specific training is to educate service providers about the historical trauma concepts and its impact on American Indian populations and to increase their skills on how to work with American Indian populations. The training targets Oklahoma service providers in the behavioral health, healthcare, child welfare and law enforcement fields.
The ODMHSAS Tribal State Relations Workgroup is comprised of state and tribal partners that collaborate to address behavioral health care needs of American Indian populations in Oklahoma. As we focus on education and training, we want to address ways to build an understanding on how to more effectively work with American Indian populations and build upon the strengths and sovereignty of each tribal nation in Oklahoma. The ODMHSAS Tribal State Relations Workgroup strongly believes that the health and wellbeing of Tribal nations is contingent upon understanding the specific needs of our Tribal communities.
