Forensic Review Board

|
The Forensic Review Board (FRB) is a statutorily created entity composed of seven (7) members appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate. The FRB is a separate and distinct public entity with no affiliation to or with the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS). The FRB meets as necessary to determine which individuals confined with ODMHSAS’ Oklahoma Forensic Center are eligible for therapeutic visits, conditional release or discharge and whether the Board wishes to make such a recommendation to the court of the county where the individual was found not guilty by reason of insanity. Forensic Review Board meetings are not considered subject to the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act and are not open to the public. The rules and regulations applicable to the Forensic Review Board may be found in Title 277 of the state's Administrative Rules. An unofficial copy is offered here. Official copies can be obtained from the Office of Administrative Rules at the Oklahoma Secretary of State's office.
