Mary Walker
Mary P. Walker, chair of the Oklahoma Commission on the Status of Women, was appointed in 2002 by Governor Frank Keating and subsequently re-appointed by Governor Brad Henry in 2007. Walker has served on the nominating committee, as vice-chair from 2007-2009, and as co-chair of the 2009 Women’s Hall of Fame. Walker is an active member of the First Baptist Church North Tulsa where she directs the Singles Ministry, is a sponsor of the Youth Ministry, chairs the scholarship committee through the Christian Education Ministry, sings in the Angelic Choir, and chairs the hospitality committee of the Good News Partners Women’s Mission Circle. Employed as the Associate Dean of the Communications Services Division at the Metro Campus of Tulsa Community College, Walker is now in her 38th year with the College. Serves on several councils and committees and was one of the co-chairs of the College's accreditation team. She is one of the co-advisors of the African American Student Association.
