OCAST board approves $2 million in applied research funds for 10 projects

Ten of 33 applications have been approved for more than $2 million in OCAST funding from the Oklahoma Applied Research Support (OARS) program. The research will be conducted for the next three years. Eight other projects were favorably qualified by the peer review process but were victims of budget limits.

OCAST board funds six R&D Intern Partnerships

Six new R&D Intern Partnership awards have been approved for funding by the governing board of OCAST, the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology. Each R&D Intern Partnership will operate two years in collaboration with universities and private-sector companies in Tulsa, Claremore and Stillwater.

A cooperative agreement between the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center and OCAST was signed today as part of a concerted effort to support research and development needs at Tinker Air Force Base with Oklahoma-grown research capability.

OCAST board approves $42 million budget request

OCAST’s governing board Tuesday approved a $42 million budget request the science agency will present to state lawmakers in the upcoming 2009 session. The request of some $19 million over the current budget reflects two new programs and increases in traditional programs to fund pent-up research demand that attracts private and federal dollars.
