Boards/Committees

OCAST is a state agency governed by a 21-member board of directors – the Oklahoma Science and Technology Research and Development (OSTRaD) Board – consisting of the executive director of the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, the chancellor of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, the secretary of agriculture, the presidents of both the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University, the president of a private university, the president of a regional university, twelve members appointed by the governor, and two nonvoting legislators appointed by the leader of each house. Members appointed by the governor serve with the consent of the senate and generally serve four-year terms.

Advisory committees provide guidance to OCAST in the design and operation of specific programs in keeping with Oklahoma state statutes. Committee members come from various disciplines and help determine if programs are properly balancing the need for technology-based economic development and remain user-friendly and accessible to the Oklahoma research community.
