LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOOD DRIVE SCHEDULED
The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, the Oklahoma Blood Institute and the Oklahoma City Indian Clinic are teaming up to coordinate a Law Enforcement Blood drive. Mark Woodward, Spokesman for OBN says the event is designed to assist a former OBN Director battling leukemia, as well as help replenish a dangerously low state blood supply.
"Fred Means has fought the drug war for many years
as an OBN Agent and Director of our agency. Now he's fighting the toughest battle of his life, leukemia. This blood drive is a way for law enforcement and the public to show support for Fred, as well as others in his condition. In addition to helping Fred, the public will be doing itself a favor. During the summer months blood donations are often in the highest demand, yet at their lowest levels."

The Oklahoma Blood Institute will be holding the blood drive Wednesday, June 7th, 2006 at the Oklahoma City Indian Clinic located at 4913 West Reno from 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Those wishing to donate are asked to contact the Oklahoma City Indian Clinic at 948-4900, ext. 276 so organizers will know how many donors to expect.
