Founder's Day Celebration Rescheduled for June 20, 2009

The City of Nicoma Park is celebrating it's 50th Year Anniversary.

Our event has been rescheduled due to the rain. Join us for the fun and celebration on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at NE 23rd Street & Nichols Drive

  • Lots of great food: BBQ pit sandwiches, ribs, drinks, popcorn,  Indian tacos, fry bread & more!
  • Activities for all ages 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. including: dunk tanks, jail for bail, inflatables, free child fingerprinting by Sheriff's department, live chainsaw carving & blacksmithing.
  • Parade starts at 10:00 a.m. on Westminster & 23rd Street and proceeds east to City Hall (deadline to register April 30, 2009).
  • Car Show with prizes - $20 entry fee.
  • Vendor space available.

City-Wide Garage Sale

April 23-26 - No permit required on these dates.

Spring Clean-Up - one day only

May 9, 2009. For Nicoma Park residents only, proof of residency required. This year's clean-up will be held at the City Park at 1801 N. Hiwassee. Gates will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Curbside Bulk Pick-Up for 2009

February 12

November 12

You must have trash service with Allied Waste in order to participate in the Curbside Pick-Up.

Trash must be at curbside prior to 6:00 a.m. on the day of pick up.

Bulk Waste Restrictions:

    • Refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners are accepted provided the Freon has been properly drained by a qualified technician, certification issued and placed on the unit.
    • Brush is to be cut into 4-foot length sections, tied and bundled.
    • No pieces of concrete or rocks.
    • Smaller items should be placed in containers or bags.
    • No massive construction or demolition materials.
    • No hazardous waste.
    • No batteries, paint, tires, oils or liquid substances.
    • No dead animal carcasses.
    • No more than 3 cubic yards.
    • All bulky waste must be placed at the curb or roadside.

Admission $3 - No age limit.
Smoke and alcohol free environment.

Senior Meals Luncheon

Senior Citizen lunches are provided by the Area-Wide Aging Agency each Wednesday in the Nicoma Park Community Center. You must call City Hall at 769-5673 by 4:00 p.m.. each Monday to reserve your lunch. There is no charge, but donations are accepted to help cover the cost of materials and supplies for the lunches.
