Dimensional Stone

The term dimensional stone refers to stone that is finished to specific dimensions and shapes.  Most commonly it is quarried in large rectangular blocks, which are then sawed into slabs for further finishing, and used in buildings, monuments, furniture, industrial applications and other uses.   Other stone, sold as fieldstone, flagging, rubble, and other similar names, is sold in either natural or broken sizes and shapes that are sorted into size ranges, but not finished or dressed to specific dimensions.  These types of stone can be used for building, paving, decorative, or other purposes.
