Clay and Shale

Clay and shale, found abundantly throughout Oklahoma, are used mainly in the manufacture of brick and tile; stoneware and pottery manufacture accounts for a smaller portion of the clay usage. The major production of clay occurs near the state's two major cities, Oklahoma City and Tulsa. The three counties with highest output are Wagoner, Oklahoma, and Seminole Counties.
