Marginal Well production is vital to the economy and security of the State of Oklahoma and the nation.The Marginal Well Commission is an Oklahoma State agency, funded by the oil and natural gas industry, with a purpose of protecting and promoting our state's production of crude oil and natural gas. We are here to serve the operator with our technology transfer programs; to serve the state by making sure that our most vital resource is continuously produced and not prematurely abandoned; and to serve the public as an information source regarding the importance of the industry to their lives and the state in which they live. We are in full compliance with the Oklahoma Open Records Act. Registration details such as name, address, telephone number, and company are subject to public inspection.

MISSION

To serve the Governor, Legislators, oil and gas industry and public by defining, identifying, and evaluating the economic and operational factors of marginally producing oil and gas wells, and to assure that appropriate efforts are made to extend the life of these wells so energy can be economically provided to all citizens of the State of Oklahoma.

VISION

To be an effective and reliable agent in helping prevent the premature plugging of marginal oil and gas wells in Oklahoma. This will be accomplished through: educating and informing the oil and gas industry, the public and the state legislature of the importance of marginal production in Oklahoma and the nation by helping facilitate studies of economics and demographics of the industry; making operators aware of federal and state regulations, new technology and operating methods that help the production and profitability of their marginal wells through workshops, roundtables and an annual trade exposition.  Providing this information and links to the industry related organizations via Web site, keeping in touch with operators via quarterly newsletter.
