Suited for Success

Every year, Lt. Gov.Jari Askins collaborates with the local non-profit organization Suited for Success to outfit women in the metro area. This special program provides a vital service to low-income women entering the workforce who are in need of work-appropriate attire.

During the spring, Lt. Gov. Askins puts out a call for everyone to bring their new or gently used clothing to the capitol for the Suited for Success Clothing Drive. In addition to the carloads of clothes that are donated, monetary donations are also accepted to provide much needed funds for these community service programs.

Suited for Success is a staple of Oklahoma’s willingness to share with others and has been working with women in Oklahoma for over a decade. Over 4,000 clients have walked through the doors of Suited for Success in an attempt to better prepare themselves for the workforce.

Lt. Gov. Askins is moved by the unselfish acts of Oklahomans across the state to give back. Askins hopes to continue her involvement with this non-profit organization and encourages women in their continued success in the workplace.
