| The Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security Presents: The 2009 Regional Advisory Council Conference Getting Oklahoma Communities ''Red Dirt Ready'' November 18th & 19th 2009 Sheraton Oklahoma City Hotel (Downtown OKC) One North Broadway Oklahoma City OK 73102 The Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security (OKOHS) will host the second annual Regional Council Conference on November 18 & 19 2009 Oklahoma City at the Sheraton OKC Downtown Hotel minutes from Bricktown and other downtown attractions. The conference will offer multiple breakout sessions with subject matter experts in areas such as addressing preparedness among special needs populations emergency radio communications utilizing social media to promote community preparedness improvised explosive device detection and deterrence and more. We will also be gathering information from the Councils during a session devoted to the State Preparedness Report. The second day we will have training by Roy Kindrick of Western Oregon University's Community Policing Institute on the Leader's Role In Creating Vigilant Prepared And Resilient Communities. This is will be a valuable training and well worth your while regardless of discipline. You MUST be an actual Council Member or Alternate to register for and attend the Workshop.
