| NIMS Higher Education Workshop |

| In 2009 the Department of Education announced that Schools, Career Technology Centers, and Institutions for Higher Education, (regardless of whether they receive federal funding), should adopt and support NIMS. On September 21st the Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security and the State Regents for Higher Education Kicked off ''Goal 2010'' which announced our commitment to help these jurisdictions in seeking NIMS compliance. These workshops are designed to assist NIMS Point of Contacts from area Schools, Career-Techs, and Higher Education Institutions in exploring the 15 NIMS compliance objectives in greater detail. This workshop will also offer facilitated discussion on each of the 15 DOE NIMS objectives in which representatives from participating schools and State Office of Homeland Security will work together in answering difficult NIMS compliance questions. |
