Oklahoma Receives $13.2 Million for Homeland Security Initiatives within the State

Oklahoma City – The Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security (OKOHS) today announced the state of Oklahoma will receive approximately $13.2 million from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to continue funding statewide homeland security projects. This represents a 7.2% cut from fiscal year 2007 and a 32.4% cut from fiscal year 2006. more

DHS AWARDS $1.8 BILLION IN PREPAREDNESS GRANTS

The Department of Homeland Security announced today approximately $1.8 billion in grants to bolster state, urban area and tribal government efforts to improve the nation’s readiness, response and recovery capabilities for both natural and man-made emergencies. The department will award approximately $3 billion in Fiscal Year 2008, and has provided roughly $25 billion in grants since Fiscal Year 2002 to state, local, and tribal governments, as well as non-profit organizations. more
