DHS ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF APPLICATION GUIDANCE FOR OVER $3 BILLION IN GRANT PROGRAMS

WASHINGTON, DC – The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) today announced the release of application guidance for 14 federal grant programs whose collective purpose is to strengthen prevention, protection, response and recovery capabilities at all levels of government. The Department uses the application guidance to set strategic priorities that support President George W. Bush's National Homeland Security Strategy and align with the Department's National Preparedness Guidelines and the recently released National Response Framework. Fiscal Year (FY) 2008 grant programs provide $376.3 million more than last year to enhance the nation’s ability to prevent, protect against, respond to and recover from terrorist attacks, major disasters and other emergencies.  more



UASI NONPROFIT SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM NOW OPEN

The UASI Nonprofit Security Grant Program (UASI-NSGP) provides funding to support target-hardening activities by nonprofit organizations that are considered at high risk for international terrorist attack.  While this funding is provided specifically to high-risk nonprofit organizations, the program seeks to integrate nonprofit preparedness activities with broader state and local preparedness efforts.  To determine if you are eligible to apply for the UASI-NSGP, click here
