NIMS Compliance

Beginning in FY 2007, all federal preparedness funding was conditioned upon full compliance with the NIMS Compliance Metrics. By completing the FY 2008 activities, states and territories can still achieve what is considered to be full NIMS implementation by FY 2009.  Local and tribal jurisdictions will achieve what is considered to be full NIMS implementation by completing the FY 2008 activities outlined in the 2008 Local/Tribal metrics, which may be found at the link below.

For Local or Tribal agencies that have completed the FY 2007 NIMS requirements, there is only one additional compliance objective for FY 2008.  After completing the FY 2008 NIMS objectives, the POC must log in to NIMSCAST and complete the compliance objective questions.  You may refer to the NIMSCAST User Guide for further information on this process.  The “NIMS Compliance Objectives and Metrics with Explanations” document located at the link below has been created by the OKOHS to assist you in completing each compliance objective.
