NIMSCAST- NIMS Compliance Assessment
In order to assist you in determining your compliance with the NIMS for FY 2008, the National Incident Management System Integration Center (NIC) has developed the NIMS Capability Assessment Support Tool (NIMSCAST), a web based self-assessment tool designed to determine nationwide levels of compliance with the National Incident Management System. The NIMS baselines in 2005 and 2006, allowed counties, cities, and townships to compare the extent of their current compliance with NIMS requirements. NIMSCAST is a compilation of statements based directly upon requirements found in the NIMS. Since the language used in the NIMSCAST may be confusing, the NIMS Compliance Metrics with Explanations (LOCAL) or (TRIBAL) has been created by the OKOHS to assist you in completing each compliance objective in NIMSCAST. All jurisdictions, including cities, towns, counties, Title 18 and 19 rural fire departments, and tribal entities must complete NIMSCAST. If your local/tribal agency is not equipped to enter data on the internet based NIMSCAST, send the completed 2008 Compliance Metrics to the NIMS Compliance Team at the address listed on the NIMS Home Page. ONLY MAIL THE PACKET IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ABILITY TO DO NIMSCAST This packet must be received by August 15, 2008. The Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security (OKOHS) will coordinate the NIMSCAST completion and will enroll you in NIMSCAST if needed. For your convenience, a paper copy of the NIMS Compliance Objectives Metrics may also be found on the NIMS Compliance Resource page at the following links: TRIBAL 2008 Compliance Metrics Once logged in to NIMSCAST, the user is guided through the assessment and submission, (Roll-up), process. A complete list of the 2005 through 2008 Compliance Objectives for both local and tribal jurisdictions has been provided on the following pages. For complete instruction on how to use the NIMSCAST tool click the following link: NIMSCAST INSTRUCTIONS If you still have questions, please contact the NIMS Compliance team at the OKOHS. |
