2006 COURTHOUSE SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM 11/07/2006 The Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security (OKOHS) recognizes the need for target hardening measures at county courthouses across the State.
Utilizing Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention funds as part of the FY 2006 State Homeland Security Grant Program, OKOHS will once again dedicate funding to improve security at county courthouses. OKOHS worked with the Oklahoma Supreme Court, Oklahoma Administrative Office of the Courts, United States Marshals Service and local Sheriffs to design the 2006 Courthouse Security Program.
These funds do not require a local match they are 100% reimbursable. Funds must be administered through the County Sheriff as the lead local law enforcement official of the county. The senior judge for the county should also be involved in the courthouse security program by providing approval of the Courthouse Protection Plan prior to its submission to OKOHS.
The Vulnerability / Risk Assessment training will be provided by OKOHS free of charge to local law enforcement and members of the judiciary. The training will provide participants knowledge of the risk assessment process and tools to identify key vulnerabilities and how to develop a prioritized courthouse protection plan. The training is approved for 8 hours of CLEET credit and continuing legal education credit will be sought as well.
Applications are due to OKOHS by December 22, 2006. |
