These funds are available to all local and tribal governments. Interested applicants can go to the OKOHS website or call OKOHS to receive an application for these funds.  Applications must be submitted to OKOHS by April 8, 2005.  Grant funds must be expended within a two-year period from the federal award date.

Interoperable Communications System

OKOHS is continuing development and implementation of a statewide interoperable communications system.  Communities wishing to participate on the system should submit an application.  Funds can only be used to purchase approved equipment compatible with the statewide interoperable communications plan.  The interoperable communications system will be in the 700 / 800 MHZ frequency band, APCO Project 25 compliant and consistent with the new federal communications standards. 

Recipients will receive equipment deemed necessary to participate in the interoperable communications system.  Recipients will be required to submit a Memorandum of Understanding and other necessary documentation including the Interoperable Communications Questionnaire to participate in the system.  Applicants must submit a completed application and Interoperable Communications Questionnaire to OKOHS by April 8, 2005.  By submitting an application applicants are only expressing their interest in participating in the state system.
