Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) are medicines that can help you quit smoking.  They deliver nicotine to your body in a safe form.   This helps nicotine withdrawal and cravings when you first stop smoking.  NRT products only provide nicotine.  They do not contain the carcinogens or toxic gases found in cigarette smoke.

There are several types of NRT available.  Some are available over-the-counter (OTC).  You can buy these without a prescription at the store.  Other products can only be purchased with a prescription from your doctor.
