License Renewal: LPC Annual Renewal
Deadlines:
The deadline for the LPC annual renewal is June 30th. In order to renew your license without penalty, your completed renewal materials must be postmarked on or before the expiration date of your license. The issue date and expiration date of your license is on your wallet size cards.
Fees:
The annual renewal fee is $80.00. Renewal fees can be paid by cash, personal check, cashier's check or money order. Checks and money orders should be made payable to the LPC revolving fund.
Forms:
You must complete a renewal roster documenting at least twenty (20) hours of counseling related continuing education, including three (3) hours of face-to-face and pre-approved continuing education in counseling ethics. You may obtain the LPC continuing education roster by clicking the link below:
Continuing Education:
Continuing education approval may be applied for by completing the application for continuing education approval. The rules require that continuing education hours for counseling ethics and counseling supervision must be accrued face-to-face and must be pre-approved by the Department. Home-study and technology-assisted courses must also be pre-approved by the Department. No more than ten (10) hours may be accrued through home study and/or technology-assisted learning per renewal period.

Approved Supervisors:
In order to maintain your status as an LPC approved supervisor you must complete three (3) hours of face-to-face and pre-approved continuing education in counseling supervision each renewal period. If you do not complete the requirement annually and you wish to renew your approved supervisor status, you are required to complete and submit the hours for the years you missed.

Inactivate/Retire:
You may place your license on inactive status, if your license is in good standing, by submitting a request to be placed on inactive status, a one-time $25.00 fee, and your original license. A license placed on inactive status must remain inactive for at least one (1) year, but may remain inactive for as long as you desire. You do not need to accrue continuing education or pay any additional fees while your license is inactive. You may reactive your license by submitting a reactivation request form and the prorated fee for the month you wish to reactive. If your license is in good standing, you may retire your license by notifying the Department in writing. A retired license cannot be reactivated but it does not prevent an individual from reapplying for licensure in the future.
Late Renewal:
If you fail to renew your license by the expiration date, your license will be suspended forfeiting all right and privileges granted by the license. You have the right to renew the license by payment of the $80.00 renewal fee, the $25.00 late renewal fee and submission of a completed continuing education roster documenting twenty (20) hours of counseling related continuing education and three (3) hours of face-to-face and pre-approved counseling ethics hours.
Licensees not renewed within the one (1) year renewal period shall be permanently expired and shall not be reinstated. The license shall be returned to the Department.
