The office of Professional Counselor Licensing reviews each presentation on an individual basis. We do not issue blanket approvals to providers or websites.
In order for this office to review your workshop, you must complete and submit an application for approval to this office. You may submit the completed form by mail, fax, or e-mail. The mailing address is:

To ensure a prompt response from the Department, please allow adequate time for processing. Your application will not be approved if it is not completed in its entirety.
Application Forms for Continuing Education Approval:
Please carefully read the instructions below to determine which forms you must submit in order to receive continuing education approval:
If you are applying for the approval of a presentation with one topic and one presenter, you may complete the application form only. You do not need to submit a brochure or agenda if you are not applying for ethics and/or supervision.
If you are applying for the approval of a presentation with multiple topics or multiple presenters you must complete the application form documenting each topic, presenter, breakout session, plenary, and lunch presentation. Please utilize the additional page 1 and page 2, to document this information.
If you are applying for the approval of an ethics and/or supervision presentation you must complete the application form, the ethics and/or supervision page and submit a brochure, agenda, or brief description of your workshop including the times, dates, presenters, presenter’s qualifications and content.

The office of Professional Counselor Licensing posts two lists of approved workshops. One list includes all approved workshops; the other is a list of pre-approved home-study and technology-assisted learning workshops.

Q: Do I need to have my presentation pre-approved?
A: The Regulations for both LPC and LMFT require continuing education in ethics, supervision and home-study or technology-assisted learning, to be pre-approved by the Department. Q: What constitutes pre-approval?
A: A presentation is considered pre-approved when a completed application has been submitted and approved by the Department. Q: Do I have to submit an application in order for my presentation to count toward my renewal requirements?
A: No. If the presentation is not meant to fulfill the ethics or supervision C.E. requirements, does not take place in the context of a home-study or technology-assisted learning format and it conforms to the requirements set fort in the LPC and/or LMFT Regulations then you do not have to submit an application for C.E. approval. Q: Is there a fee for C.E. approval?
A: No. There is not a fee for C.E. approval. Q: Who can submit an application for C.E. approval?
A: Anyone may submit an application for C.E. approval.
