Public Input Sought for Title V Maternal and Child Health Needs Assessment

Officials with the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) are seeking input from the public regarding the health needs of women and children in the state. Through Jan. 31, 2014, the OSDH Maternal and Child Health Service (MCH) will post an online survey for public response in an effort to assess the greatest needs of Oklahoma’s pregnant women, mothers, infants and children, including children with special health care needs.

This public input is needed for the development of a state plan for services funded through the MCH Title V Block Grant (Title V of the Social Security Act) for the 2016-2020 fiscal years. Funds from the block grant assure that these groups, particularly those with low income or with limited availability of services, have access to quality health care services. The feedback received will help shape the future of Oklahoma’s MCH Title V Program by determining the greatest needs presently facing women, children, and families in Oklahoma.

The MCH online survey is anonymous and short, with 13 questions. To access, visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/MCHOklahoma. Hard copies of the survey are also available by contacting Carolyn Marriott at (405) 271-6761 or email CarolynM@health.ok.gov.

The survey will be open until Jan. 31, 2014, and results from the statewide survey will be available online after Feb.1, 2014.
