Oklahoma State Board of Health Elects Officers

At its regular monthly meeting today, the Oklahoma State Board of Health elected a new slate of officers to one-year terms for 2012-2013. Dr. R. Murali Krishna was elected President, Dr. Ronald Woodson was elected Vice President, and Martha A. Burger was elected Secretary-Treasurer.

Dr. R. Murali Krishna is President and Chief Operating Officer of INTEGRIS Mental Health and Co-founder, President and Chief Operating Officer of INTEGRIS Health James L. Hall Jr. Center for Mind, Body and Spirit. He was appointed to the Board of Health in 2008 and represents Logan, Oklahoma, Cleveland, McClain, Garvin, Murray and Payne counties.

Dr. Ronald Woodson is an interventional cardiologist, practicing in Lawton since 1982. He is the Co-founder and President of The Heart and Vascular Center of Lawton. He was appointed to the Board of Health in 2010 and represents Blaine, Kingfisher, Canadian, Caddo, Grady, Comanche, Jefferson, Stephens and Cotton counties.

Martha A. Burger is Senior Vice President for Human and Corporate Resources at Chesapeake Energy. She was appointed to the Board of Health in 2011 and represents the state at large.

The Board of Health also recognized the contributions of outgoing member Rev. Alfred Baldwin Jr., whose term ends this month, and Dr. Jenny Alexopulos, who completed her second term as Board of Health President. Today’s meeting was held at the Stillwater Medical Center as part of the Board’s continuing efforts to schedule meetings outside the Oklahoma City area to provide opportunities for the public to meet those who represent them on the Board. 

The Oklahoma State Board of Health has nine members appointed by the governor with senate confirmation.
