WHAT: Certified Healthy Oklahoma Awards Luncheon

WHEN: Thursday, March 1, 11:30 a.m.

WHERE:  Cox Convention Center, downtown Oklahoma City

SUMMARY: More than 480 winners of the Certified Healthy Oklahoma awardsprogram will be honored at a luncheon and awards ceremony.  These Certified Healthy Oklahoma honorees represent businesses, restaurants, schools, communities, college campuses and career technology centers that have responded to the call for all Oklahomans to eat better, move more and be tobacco free.

FEATURING:  Gov. Mary Fallin, Cabinet Secretary for Health and Human Services Dr. Terry Cline, and State Schools Superintendent  Janet Barresi will be joined by Blue Cross Blue Shield President Bert Marshall to honor the awardees. Larry Cohen, founder and
executive director of the Prevention Institute, will serve as keynote speaker for the event. Cohen will address the importance of wellness at all levels – where we live, work, learn and play – and he will share strategies to build resilience and prevent illness and injury before they occur.

The Certified Healthy Oklahoma programs are a joint effort of the Oklahoma State Department of Health, The State Chamber, The Oklahoma Academy, Oklahoma Turning Point Council, and numerous other partners who are helping to shape a healthier future for Oklahoma.
