Health Equity Meeting to discuss 2-1-1 Oklahoma and Access to Services

The Oklahoma Health Equity Campaign (OHEC) Partners will meet to discuss “2-1-1 Oklahoma:  Get Connected. Get Answers” on Thursday, March 31, at 2 p.m. in Room 314 at the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH), 1000 N.E. 10th St. in Oklahoma City. The public is invited to attend.

The 2-1-1 Oklahoma network is a confidential, free, three-digit number that connects people with information about critical social services. It is available 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.

The guest speaker, Lori Linstead, is the state director of Oklahoma’s information and referral network called “2-1-1 Oklahoma”. This presentation is designed to provide an overview of 2-1-1 Oklahoma, how it works, the benefits to being connected and specific ways to get connected whether you are a person in need or a human service agency with resources to offer. Linstead provides staff support to the 2-1-1 Oklahoma Coordinating Council and oversight to the 2-1-1 Oklahoma call center regions. She sits on various boards including the 2-1-1 U.S. National Steering Committee, and the 2-1-1 U.S. Public Policy Committee and Organizational Development Committee.

“This is an opportunity for those attending to find ways to improve access to community services to help reduce health inequities and improve the quality of life in Oklahoma,” said Marisa New, director of OSDH Health Equity and Resources Opportunities.
