For Release: July 12, 2010 Champions of Health Award Nominations Sought For seven years, the Champions of Health Awards have sought to recognize those who are trying to improve the health of Oklahomans. Individuals and organizations are recognized for their efforts so that these successes can be replicated in communities across the state. Nominations are now being sought for the seventh annual Champions of Health awards. Nominations are accepted in five categories: All nominations must include a nomination form, narrative summary, narrative and program samples. Winners will receive an award as well as a $1,000 contribution to their organization or program. All entries will be considered for the top honor, the Dr. Rodney Huey Champion of Oklahoma Health Award. This winner will receive a $2,500 contribution to his or her organization or program. All winners will be honored at a Champions of Health awards banquet in Oklahoma City later this year. The Champions of Health awards are presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma, the Oklahoma State Department of Health, the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, the Oklahoma Hospital Association, the Oklahoma State Medical Association, and the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association.
