Seasonal Flu Vaccine Still Available at _____ County Health Department
Have you received your seasonal flu shot yet? The _____ County Health Department reminds _____ residents that it still has flu vaccine available to protect against this year’s seasonal influenza viruses. To get a seasonal flu shot (local health department complete information here about calling for information or posting clinic availability.)
“Seasonal flu vaccine is not the same vaccine as the new H1N1 flu (swine flu) vaccine. That vaccine will soon be available for those most at risk from H1N1 flu,” said _____ County Health Department Administrative Director _____.
“For many, the risks posed by seasonal influenza viruses can be serious. Getting a shot now will protect against those viruses for the entire flu season,” _____ emphasized.
The shot is especially recommended for children 6 months of age up to their 19th birthday, pregnant women, persons 50 years of age or older, persons with chronic medical conditions, residents who live in nursing homes or other long-term care facilities, and persons who live with or care for those at high risk for complications from the flu, including health care workers.
Although there is no charge for getting a flu shot from the _____ County Health Department, voluntary donations will be accepted.
