March Arthritis Network Speaker to Discuss Nutrition and Arthritis
“Nutrition and Arthritis: Is There a Relationship?” is the topic for the Thursday, March 6 meeting of the Oklahoma Arthritis Network (OAN) at 2 p.m. at the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH), 1000 N.E. 10th Street, Oklahoma City. The program is free and open to the public.
Guest speaker will be Landon Norton, MS, RD/LD, nutrition coordinator for the Oklahoma Physical Activity and Nutrition program, which provides the state plan for fighting obesity. Norton provides nutritional expertise for state efforts to promote healthy eating and also serves as the Oklahoma Fruit & Vegetable Nutrition Coordinator for the “Fruits & Veggies – More Matters” initiative. Norton’s presentation will include the latest research concerning the relationship between diet and arthritis. He will also discuss reaching and maintaining a healthy weight, and general tips for eating healthy.
