Home Visitation Leadership Advisory Coalition to Meet
To assist with community-based family support efforts, the Home Visitation Leadership Advisory Coalition (HVLAC) announces their upcoming meeting dates for leaders involved with home visitation programs across the state.
The HVLAC meetings are scheduled on Wednesday mornings from 10 a.m. until noon at the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH), 1000 N.E. 10th St., Room 507, in Oklahoma City on Wednesday, Sept. 20, and Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006.
Additional HVLAC meetings are scheduled for Jan. 17, March 21, and May 16, 2007, at the same time and location.
The purpose of these meetings is to provide networking and information sharing by different home visitation programs in an effort to strive for best practices in home visitation across the state. Groups that might be interested would include, but are not limited to programs such as SoonerStart, Parents as Teachers, Children First, Healthy Families, Head Start, Comprehensive Home-Based Services, and other programs involved in some capacity with home visitation.
Interested persons may sign up to receive a seasonal newsletter about child development information, parenting education tips, how to prevent injuries, professional health and safety tips, and advice for caregivers.
To receive the newsletter or additional information about HVLAC meetings, contact Sherie Trice, OSDH Family Support and Prevention Service, at 405-271-7611 and/or via email, email@example.com.
