||The State Board of Health’s 2005 State of the State’s Health
Report: A Lifetime of Prevention, marks the ninth annual report
submitted to the citizens of Oklahoma. This year’s report focuses on the economic consequences of Oklahoma’s relatively poor health status. The Board asserts that a lack of investment in preventive health services strains Oklahoma’s economy, with the result that our health care system and business community cannot sustain rapidly increasing costs of treatment for poor health outcomes. The report offers a series of recommendations designed to reverse this trend.
