County Health Departments Recognize Importance of Nurses

The theme of this year’s National Nurses Week, May 6-12, is “Nurses: Many Roles, Many Professions”. The _____ County Health Department wishes to recognize the valuable services that nurses provide to protect the public’s health, safety and welfare.

“Some of the services provided by public health nurses include child and adult
immunizations, preventive health screenings, monitoring and control of communicable diseases and chronic health concerns, services that assure healthier mothers and babies, child abuse prevention, school health education, bioterrorism preparedness, and _____,” said _____ County Health Department Administrative Director _____.

The _____ County Health Department salutes the work of America's 2.7 million registered nurses who save lives and help maintain the health of millions of people.

National Nurses Week begins on May 6, RN Recognition Day, and ends on May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, founder of nursing as a modern profession. In honor of National Nurses Week and RN Recognition Day, registered nurses around the country are encouraged to wear the official RN pin and uniforms.
