State Health Officials Seek Proposals for Abstinence Education Projects
The Oklahoma State Department of Health is seeking proposals for two-year projects that will provide abstinence-only education for Oklahoma’s youth. The goal of these projects is to reduce teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases among youth by delaying the start of sexual intercourse.
The projects should focus on youth under the age of 20, with special emphasis on teens who are ages 13 to 15, as well as parents of teens and preteens (ages 9 to 12).
The projects will be funded through the Abstinence Education Program of the state health department’s Child Guidance Service.
Additional details regarding this request for proposal can be found on the Oklahoma Department of Central Services Web site at www.dcs.state.ok.us.
