FOR RELEASE: January 14, 2003 Media Advisory
Why: In an effort to communicate with the tradesmen regulated by the Oklahoma Construction Industries Board, the Chairman of that Board has scheduled a Video Conference at ten Technology Centers around the state to provide training to tradesmen in or close to their own communities. There is no charge and participants will be able to talk directly to the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Board from any site they attend. Training will be provided on the latest rules and regulations and the fee structure, as well as pending legislation. Background: The Construction Industries Board was formed in September 2001 as a result of state legislation creating a nine-member board to regulate Oklahoma’s plumbing, electrical and mechanical trades, as well as building and construction inspectors. Sites: Autry Technology Center, Enid; High Plains Technology Center, Woodward; Kiamichi Technology Center, McAlester; Metro Tech-Oklahoma City Branch; Moore-Norman Technology Center, Norman; Oklahoma State University, Stillwater; Pontotoc Technology Center, Ada; Southwest Technology Center, Altus; Tulsa Community College, Tulsa; and Western Technology Center, Weatherford.
