Construction Industries Board Schedules Webcast
In an effort to communicate with the tradesmen regulated by the Oklahoma Construction Industries Board, the Chairman of that Board has scheduled a Webcast at Technology Centers around the state to provide training to tradesmen in or close to their own communities.
The Webcast will be broadcast Tuesday, April 30, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at 10 participating Technology Centers. There is no charge and participants will be able to talk directly to the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Board from any site they attend.
The Construction Industries Board was formed last year as a result of state legislation creating a nine-member board to regulate Oklahoma’s plumbing, electrical and mechanical trades, as well as building and construction inspectors.
“We will take advantage of the latest communications technology available through a Webcast to reach trades people who work during the day and otherwise would not have this opportunity,” explained Boyd West, administrator for the Construction Industries Board. “This will be a training conference to acquaint our trades people with the latest rules and regulations and explain the fee structure.”
The Webcast is available only at the following designated Technology Centers:
Autry Technology Center
High Plains Technology Center
Kiamichi Technology Center
Metro Tech-Oklahoma City Branch
Moore-Norman Technology Center
Oklahoma State University
Pontotoc Technology Center
Southwest Technology Center
Tulsa Community College
Western Technology Center
Members of the Construction Industries Board include Larry Shea, Chairman, representing electrical contractors; Michael Liston, Vice-Chairman, representing mechanical journeymen; Ken Callahan, representing inspectors; Monty Ketner, representing plumbers journeymen; Jerry King, representing inspectors; Jacob Kurle, representing mechanical contractors; Zearl McAllister, representing lay public; Dave Norwood, representing electrical journeymen; and Ronnie Nutt, representing plumbing contractors.
