National Nurses Week
The _____ County Health Department is gearing up to celebrate the contributions and accomplishments of its Public Health Nurses during National Nurses Week. Each year, National Nurses Week is celebrated beginning on May 6, in recognition of National Nurses Day, and ending on May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, founder of nursing as a modern profession. In a 1999 Gallup poll, the nursing profession was listed as the most honest of all professions.
“As the health care system in this country continues to evolve, public health nurses will be ready to develop new partnerships in the public and private sectors to work collaboratively toward creating healthy communities,” said _____. “I’m proud that our nursing staff is part of this effort.”
