For Release: January __, 2000 Pottawatomie County Health Department Urges TB Skin Test Follow-up for Customers of Two Shawnee Businesses Pottawatomie County Health Department, dismayed with the poor turnout of a recent second round of special tuberculosis (TB) skin tests set up for customers of two Shawnee businesses, appealed today to those customers to have their TB skin test repeated. The health department had provided two special TB skin test clinics for customers of Eldon’s Bar and Grill, 114 South Beard, and Pastimes, 102 N. Market. Customers who frequented these businesses from 4 p.m. to midnight from May 1 through August 15, 1999, may have been exposed to an active case of tuberculosis and should be tested. Health Department Administrator Rod Huffman urged these customers to go to the health department to be tested. The TB clinics are open from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. every Monday and Tuesday at the health department office at 1904 Gordon Cooper Drive. For more information, call the health department at 273-2157. ### |
