OSDH Situation Room

In December 2003, Homeland Security Presidential Directive #8 (HSPD-8) was issued and declared that public health entities are 'first responders'. Further, the National Response Plan (NRP) mandates that Emergency Operations Centers (EOC) are the entities by which response efforts are coordinated and supported. 

The OSDH 'Situation Room' acts as the public health EOC during emergency responses. During an event, the Command and General staff utilizes the Situation Room for gathering, analysis, and dissemination of critical health information.  The Situation Room is outfitted with multiple audio, visual, communication and information systems.
