Occupational Safety and Health Surveillance Advisory Committee

Purpose

The Occupational Safety and Health Surveillance Advisory Committee was organized in 2006 to serve as an advisory body to the Injury Prevention Service of the Oklahoma State Department of Health. The purpose of the committee is to

  • review data collection procedures and collected data,
  • identify appropriate audiences for occupational reports,
  • provide input on potential prevention programs, and
  • provide ideas for additional surveillance activities and priorities in Oklahoma.

The committee meets 2-3 times per year at the

Membership

Membership is comprised of representatives from the following organizations and agencies:

  • Center for Health Statistics, OSDH
  • Poison Control Center,
  • Oklahoma Department of Labor,
  • OU College of Public Health (Dept. of Occupational and Environmental Health),
  • Autry Career Technology Center,
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration,
  • Oklahoma State University Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering,
  • Lead Poisoning Prevention Program, OSDH,
  • Oklahoma State University Extension Pesticide Program,
  • Oklahoma Cancer Registry, OSDH, and
  • Workers’ Compensation Court.
