Oklahoma Central Cancer Registry

The Oklahoma Central Cancer Registry has received the highest level of certification available (Gold) from the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries. The certification is based on quality, completeness and timeliness of data collected for 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005.

Oklahoma Central Cancer Registry is the central database of information on all cancer diagnosed or treated in Oklahoma since January 1, 1997. Federal Public Law 102-515, Oklahoma Statute 63 OS 1-551, and Chapter 567 OSBDH Rules and Regulations requires all healthcare and health service providers to report specific information on every cancer case.

The statewide registry enables researchers, policymakers, and consumers to obtain incidence, prevalence, and survival information. In addition, the information allows both private and public health agencies to study cancer trends and develop cancer prevention and/or control programs that are based on data.
