Appropriate Antibiotic Usage
"The CDC has launched a national ad campaign to promote appropriate antibiotic use in the community. The campaign, “Get Smart: Know When Antibiotics Work” teaches patients and the general public that antibiotics are precious resources that must be used correctly if we want to have them around when we need them. It lets patients know that many respiratory infections are caused by germs called viruses and that antibiotics are ineffective against these organisms. Hopefully, as a result of this campaign, patients will feel more comfortable asking their doctors for the best care for their illnesses, rather than asking for antibiotics."
