Child Guidance Services

The Child Guidance Clinic at the Seminole County Health Department works with parents and children to prevent problems and to help strengthen families.

To achieve this mission, the Child Guidance Clinic provides behavioral health and parent education services to children and families.

Behavioral Health (Psychological Services)

  • Psychological evaluations for a variety of difficulties including Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, school problems, and behavior problems.
  • Short-term treatment, including Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, for children and families dealing with emotional, behavioral, and learning problems.
  • Consultation to parents, day care workers, teachers, and other professionals on mental health related issues such as; children of divorce, anger management, grief and loss, child abuse, stress management, and raising spirited children.
  • Adoption support and preservation services for families adopting through the Oklahoma Department of Human Services.
  • Support and assistance for school districts utilizing the Youth Risk Behavior Survey.
  • Screening and referrals to other providers as needed.

Fees
The charge for services is based on family size and income.  Third party payments may apply.  The Child Guidance Clinic does not file insurance claims, but can provide the necessary documentation.  Services are not denied based on inability to pay.
