Take Charge!

Take Charge! is Oklahoma's Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program. The mission of Take Charge! is to provide women with information and access to screening services in order to reduce morbidity and mortality from breast and cervical cancer. Funding for this program is provided by a grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Program eligibility guidelines include:

• Oklahoma women that are age 19 through 64 years old are eligible for clinical breast examinations, cervical cancer screening, and follow-up referrals
• Oklahoma women that are age 40 through 64 years old are eligible for mammography screenings
• Have no insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid to cover the screening
• Meet income guidelines

Women who meet the program guidelines can receive the following services:

• Women's Health History
• Cancer Risk History
• Clinical Breast Exam
• Pap Smear
• Education for lowering your cancer risk
• Coupon for free mammogram for women age 50-64 years
• Referral and Follow-up for women with abnormal results
