Family Planning
The mission of the Oklahoma Family Planning Program is "to provide individuals the information and means to exercise personal choice in determining the number and spacing of their children." The Oklahoma Family Planning Program provides services without regard to religion, race, color, national origin, creed, disability, sex, or ability to pay.
The Grant County Health Department's Family Planning services are provided by a Physician, Family Nurse Practitioner, and Public Health Nurses. Services include:
- Annual physical exams, including height, weight, blood pressure, and breast exam
- Laboratory testing including a pap smear, iron level, and STD screening, when appropriate
- Family Planning Education/Counseling
- Birth Control Methods
- Tubal Ligation and Vasectomy Counseling
- Pregnancy Testing
- Emergency Contraception
- Breast Self Exam Instructions
- Assistance with Family Planning Waiver Application (if eligible)
Birth Control Options
The following methods are available at the Grant County Health Department
- Oral Contraceptives (pills)
- Transdermal patch
- Vaginal contraceptive ring
- Contraceptive injection (shot)
- Intrauterine device (IUD)
- Condoms
