SoonerStart/Early Interventionboy using toy blocks

Our early intervention services are provided for eligible children (newborn to 3 years of age) and their families.  Children are determined eligible with an automatically qualifying condition or syndrome (for example: Down's Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and etc.)  or through developmental testing. Developmental testing is available for the following areas:

-Personal/Social
-Self-Help
-Gross/Fine motor
-Receptive/ Expressive Language
-Cognition
-Hearing
-Vision

Intervention services may include:

-Parent education
-Nutrition
-Nursing
-Speech/Language therapy
-Physical therapy
-Occupational therapy
-Audiology
-Social work

-Child Development services
-Vision Consultant
-Deaf and Hard of Hearing Consultant
-Resource coordinator services

All services are free of charge regardless of insurance or income.  Services are provided where the child typically spends time such as home or child care, but families are welcome to come to the county health department also.  We serve families in Garfield, Grant Major, Alfalfa, and Woods counties.
