Maternity
The Health Department Maternity program’s principal function is to eliminate barriers to care by ensuring all women are served, regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, creed, handicap, sex, number of pregnancies, marital status, or ability to pay.
The Maternity Program strives to provide comprehensive, coordinated and family centered care, which is holistic and multidisciplinary by design. Maternity program staff are encouraged to anticipate problems and to advocate for women who access our services.
The Garfield County Health Department functions in a unique manner. Clients enter the program with an intake appointment, which lasts approximately two hours. A detailed medical history and laboratory screenings are performed. Medical residents from Enid Family Medicine Clinic provide the physical exam and following routine exams. The Health Department and maternity physicians have a close working relationship to ensure quality care to maternity clients.
