Child HealthChild

The mission of the Maternal and Child Health Service is to protect and promote the health of Oklahoma’s women, children, and families by assessing health status, establishing evidence-based priorities and providing leadership to assure the availability of individual, family and population-based services. These services include:

Infants and Children up to 18 years of age
Measurement of growth and development
Vision and hearing screening
Immunizations
Diagnosis and treatment of minor illnesses
Screening and referral of problems (vision, hearing, orthopedic, and behavior)

WIC

The Women, Infant, and Children Nutritional program improves the health of pregnant and breast feeding women, as well as infants and children up to the age of five who are at nutritional risk. WIC helps prevent malnutrition by providing special packages of nutritious food, supplemented with nutrition education materials and referrals for additional health care.
Certifications performed by Public Health Nurses, Nutritionists, Dietetic Technicians, and Nutrition Assistants
Health assessment and dietary evaluation
Nutrition education
Food instruments to be redeemed for specific food items
Income guidelines
Counseling with parents of infant care, child behavior and nutrition
