$4656.17 - $5000.33 per month (based on education and experience)

Description:
The Oklahoma State Department of Health is recruiting for a position for the Comanche County Health Department. This position will provide advanced health care to individuals. This includes the assessing health as well as analyzing data to determine medical and nursing needs.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

 

-Performing comprehensive physical examinations.

-Securing health histories.

-Performing or ordering laboratory tests.

-Conducting other appropriate procedures to assess the health status of patients or clients.

-Planning a strategy to meet identified health care needs.

-Reviewing and analyzing laboratory tests and other diagnostic data.

-Prescribing types of birth control and medication for treatment.

-Counseling patient on health problems, prescribed treatments, and the use of drugs.

-Providing continuity of an individualized health care program for clients.

-Referring or collaborating with physicians and other members of the health care team when needed.

Education and Work Experience:
Requirements include possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a Registered Nurse by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing and recognition as an Advanced Practice Nurse by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Requirements include knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and chemistry; of medical diagnosis techniques, methods, and procedures; of the theory, principles, and practices of nursing; of methods and procedures of the laboratory; diagnosis techniques; of pharmaceutical agents, their usage, and contraindications; of minor surgical procedures and techniques; of safety and safety practices; and of medical management techniques. Ability is required to conduct physical examinations and health assessments, to provide advanced specialized nursing care, to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, to instruct and counsel clients, to interview and obtain medical information.
