Immunizations

Carter County Health Department provides services which reduce the number of vaccine-preventable diseases.  Vaccines are responsible for the control of many infectious diseases that were once common in this country. However, the viruses and bacteria that cause vaccine-preventable diseases and death still exist and can be passed on to people who are not protected by vaccines. Vaccine-preventable diseases have a costly impact, resulting in doctors visits, hospitalizations, and premature deaths. Sick children can also cause parents to lose time from work. 

We offer Immunizations to all persons without regard to religion, race, color, national origin, creed, disability, or sex.

Children

All of the childhood immunizations are offered at no cost to you, however if you have SoonerCare/Medicaid, we ask that you bring your child's medical card. 

Adults

For adults we offer:

Tetanus, which should be updated every ten years. There is no charge for this vaccine.
If after five years you sustain a "Dirty injury", you should update your tetanus within 72 hours of the injury.

Tetanus with Pertussis, Pneumonia, Influenza, Chickenpox, and MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) are also offered at no charge.

Hepatitis A (2 shots, six-months apart) $25/shot.

Hepatitis B (3 shots, over a six-month period) $35/shot.

Hepatitis A/B Combo (3 shots, over a six-month period) $45/shot

Meningitis Vaccine $90 for ages 19 and over

Zostavax (shingles vaccine) $160 or may be eligible for MERCK vaccine replacement program if meet income guidelines.
