Family Planning

The mission of the Oklahoma Family Planning Program is "to provide individuals the information and means to exercise personal choice in determining the number and spacing of their children".

Carter County Health Department's Family Planning services are provided by an OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner and Public Health Nurses.

Annual physical exam consisting of pap smear, breast exam, hemoglobin, height and weight, blood pressure, and if applicable, sexually transmitted disease screening, and testicular exam for males.

We also provide Family Planning education/counseling.

Cost
Family Planning services are offered on a sliding scale. A client's percentage to pay is based on income. However, you will not be denied services because of your inability to pay.

SoonerPlan
Financial assistance is available through SoonerPlan. SoonerPlan is a program made available through the Oklahoma Health Care Authority that will cover family planning services. This includes exams, birth control, tubal ligation and vasectomies. To apply for this program please bring your photo ID and a copy of your birth certificate to our office in Ardmore. Applications can be downloaded here or picked up at the health department.
